The fast growing car trend of STANCE
Contributed by: Enginebasics.com
One of the many things that makes the car hobby so exciting is the ever-changing styles that come and go. While many believe that the car scene is just about show, or just about performance, there are actually many smaller trends that pepper the scene with equal enthusiasm. One of those is what is called: “STANCE”. Stancing a car is the act of putting low offset wheels on and lowering it to the point that even a slight bump in the road could mean disaster. Perfecting the art requires great skill is sizing wheels and tires, rolling fenders more than you ever thought possible, and stretching tires to ridiculous levels. You might be saying to yourself: “There is no way a 225 could mount on a 9” rim”, but these enthusiasts would prove you wrong.
Many of us might say that the stance scene is not for us, but you do have to respect the enthusiasm many of these owners have for their cars. We here at enginebasics.com are performance oriented, but we can respect scenes like the Low Rider crowd, Rat Rods, Vintage Race Cars, or just not modifying anything and going for that perfect everything numbers matching ride.
If you have thought about lowing a car till it grinds on the road, or had so much tire camber your contact patch is no wider than a bicycle tire, you my friend have joined the STANCE NATION! Below are some of our favorite stance set-ups for your enjoyment:
